ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 67-year-old Orlando woman died after being struck by a LYNX bus that she had walked in front of on Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 9:12 p.m. on westbound W. Colonial Drive near Charles Street in Orange County, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the woman was walking north and entered the westbound lanes of Colonial Drive as a 2023 LYNX bus traveled westbound in the roadway’s outside lane, approaching Charles Street. The woman was not in a marked crosswalk and entered the direct path of the bus, the front of which struck her as a result, the report states.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, troopers said.

Neither the bus driver nor any of his passengers were injured in the crash, according to the report.

FHP is still investigating.
