ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’ve got plans in Central Florida, whether you’re among the first guests at Epic Universe or just heading out for the day, be ready for quick changes in the sky.
Thursday’s weather is being shaped by a weak cold front that’s bringing in moisture and instability, but this front is not expected to bring the comfortable cooldowns some may be hoping for.
Isolated showers and storms are expected in the afternoon and evening, and while rain may help keep temperatures a tad lower than Wednesday, it will still feel plenty hot.
Highs are forecast to climb near 90 degrees, with a 30% chance of rain, mainly in the midday and early evening.
Some of this rain may continue as late as 7 p.m., with light rain possibly sticking around into the overnight hours.
For those spending time at Epic Universe or outdoors around Central Florida, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the sky and be ready to dodge a few raindrops.
Friday could see a few more showers as moisture lingers, with storm chances holding in the 20-30% range.
As the Memorial Day holiday approaches, temperatures are expected to trend upward across Central Florida, with highs in the low to mid-90s.
Rain chances will dip a bit on Saturday and Sunday, before daily rain chances return early next week. Latest model runs increase coverage to 50-60% through the afternoon and early evening hours.
This uptick in rain could signal the beginning of the area’s rainy season, typically starting around the end of May.
